Why is physics important?

Krishna Mehta

In the pursuit of happiness

We may have all studied the subject called physics in our academic life, but unless you have proceeded further with it, the chances are that you don’t realize it's importance in our daily lives. Physics is not just a branch of science explaining fundamental laws of the universe, but it also introduces important concepts which are crucial for the advanced study of biology, chemistry and all the other branches of science.

In simple terms, physics is the study of energy, matter, and their interactions. It is an important branch of science which contributes towards the progress and growth of the humankind. Without the support of physics, it is nearly impossible to study the concepts of the universe. Physics is considered to be the underlying foundation of all the other branches of science. From geology to biology to chemistry, we study science based on the concepts of physics. Not just that, but also the major advances that are made in the field of technology and science is the direct result of physics.

Explaining The Importance Of Physics

The world cannot be imagined without the support of physics. No matter what field you look into, physics is everywhere. From technological development to medical advances, it has all been made possible with the help of physics. In other words, physics have various applications in our daily lives.

Physics have a wide list of disciplines under its head. Some of the most common and important disciplines under physics include.

  • Astronomy: The study of space.
  • Atomic Physics: The study of atoms, electrons, and protons.
  • Cosmology: The study of the universe as a whole which includes the origins and the evolution of the entire universe.
  • Electronics: The study of the flow of electrons in a circuit.

These are only a few of the disciplines of physics or else it has a wide number of disciplines to be named.

Physics is known to have a strong influence on the minds of the young people and thus, expands the boundaries of knowledge about nature. It also involves the fundamental knowledge required for the development of technology. In other words, it contributes to the technological infrastructure of the world. Physics also has an important role to play in the field of chemistry, biology and another field of sciences as it helps us to enhance our understanding.

Without physics, it is not possible to study the concepts or to understand the basics of other branches of science. The world wouldn’t witness any progress without physics.
