Inbound Marketing:

Inbound Marketing is a collection of various processes aimed at attracting customers towards a particular product using various techniques like content marketing, search engine optimization, social media marketing, infographics, newsletter, etc.

The content needs to be engaging for attracting a larger mass of audience and later convert them into potential clients. It is a direct form of marketing and drives the customers into the sales funnel for triggering the growth of sales.

Outbound Marketing

Outbound Marketing is the usual way of marketing, which involves promoting a product/service irrespective of the customer’s demands/requirements using TV ads, banners, radio ads, billboards, magazines, cold calling, pop-ups, etc. It is oversaturated all over the internet and with the advent of services like Ad Blocker, outbound marketing suffered a setback, and its popularity is decreasing gradually.

Which one is better?

Out of the two Outbound Marketing is more expensive. Inbound Marketing is gaining popularity because it focuses on the customer’s needs rather than the product’s needs, and it also provides a better ROI. But one drawback of the inbound marketing is that being indirect, the success rate in sales is hard to calculate.

For ensuring an effective marketing strategy, companies have started combining inbound methods with certain outbound methodologies.
