Light and dark go hand and hand. The vast improvements in the cyber world surely improved our lives vastly, but at the same time, there has been a tremendous increase in the level of cybercrimes, especially in the past 4-5 years. A career in cybersecurity is seen demanding since then. This created an urge for different cybersecurity jobs. The company often seeks the candidates with varying certifications of cybersecurity.

In this module, we’ll be discussing some of the top cybersecurity certifications to make yourself stand apart from the crowd.

  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
    CEH is a must to have a credential for the IT professionals, which is offered by the International Court of E-Commerce Consultants (EC-Council). The professionals need to display their skills of accessing the different computer systems and scan for different weak points and take necessary steps for their timely removal. Few skills required for this certification are footprinting and reconnaissance, system hacking, knowledge about Trojans, worms, viruses, malware, etc.

  • CompTIA Security+
    It is an entry-level certification course where the interested candidates are required to possess at least 2 years of experience in Computer and Network management, and also should possess skills in other areas like threat management, cryptography, identification of network threats and mitigation, etc. This course is certified by various organizations, including the US Defence Department.

    It is one of the top credentials for IT professionals. This certification course aims at providing expert knowledge to the candidates for efficient management of computer systems at the enterprise level. Some of the skills which are developed in this course are security risk identification and management, governance, efficient programming skills, etc.

    This is an advanced level certification course for the IT professionals who are very determined about their course in security and management. Minimum experience of 5 years is required for eligibility, and some of the skills which are developed in this course include Asset Security, Security Architecture and Engineering, network security, Security Assessment, and Testing, Debugging, etc.
