Windows 7 enjoyed immense popularity for several years before it was topped by Windows 10.

Windows 10 and 8 are now the most used systems in the world as of 2019. Not only are these systems used on PCs, but they can also be used on Android devices as well, further enhancing their popularity.

Apple macOS:

It is the predecessor to the OS X system and runs only Apple laptops and PCs. It was developed in the 1960s using the UNIX OS in the AT&T Labs. The graphical interface is only slightly different from Windows, making use of command-line features and programming interfaces too.

It's signature, differentiating elements are the Dock, Command Keys, Stop Light buttons of managing pages and windows. The most significant feature is Siri, the voice assistant, and FaceTime, the messaging application.

The popular OS in smartphones are Android and iOS.

Android is a product of Google and is the most used OS right now even superseding Windows. It is, till date the only system that merges calling functions with those of a computer. This OS works only on tablets and smartphones from different manufacturers. Smartphone manufacturers can even modify Android interfaces based on their own needs legally.

Android is open source too, meaning that users can easily download any version of Android. Its best feature is the application store called Google Play Store that is filled with numerous apps for various media and software needs.

Apple iOS:

Apple iOS that is similar to Android that only works on Apple devices exclusively. It also has a dedicated applications store called Apple Store. It is highly secured, limiting its users from changing parts of the OS, or extracting data from various parts of its software or apps.
