What are the chemical engineering applications in medicine?

Genetic testing and implementation of genetic therapies are highly dependable on chemical engineering as this is the field which is directly associated with medicine. Chemical engineering is referred to that branch of Science which applies the skills to convert the chemicals of various microorganisms as well as plants to the most useful products used to create medicines. 

Why is Chemical engineering used in the field of medical science?

Previously, people used to suffer a lot due to the lack of necessary medicines. Even doctors could not suggest proper medicines as there were very few options for antibiotics to cure diseases. But, recent surveys have proved that specific problems have almost demolished as chemical engineering has paved the way to improve the conditions of medicines a lot. Nowadays hospitals and nursing homes are having nearly all the branches of medications required, and people are no longer needed to travel to a long distance to find it out. 

Its applications in treatment and medicines are;

i. While the creation of modern drugs, the chemical engineers are developing ways to apply biocompatible products which are advanced enough to fight against the dangerous life risky diseases. Even various drugs and painkillers are also available nowadays to reduce pains and problems. 

ii. In the field of creating modern devices, appliances, and medicinal instruments, chemical engineering is not lacking behind. Chemical engineers apply strict and careful disciplines to build certain devices by finding, analyzing and converting materials to medical devices. If you look carefully, chemical engineering invented medicines and devices are successful in reinforcing and repairing various damaged veins and arteries. Even medical devices have been developed to cure cardiovascular diseases, hip problems, incorporation of artificial knees, arms, joints, etc. 

iii. There are certain medicines which cannot be applied directly through oral doses. Individual medical devices or instruments are required in such a way that they do not produce toxic effects on the body and have a long-lasting effect. 

iv. Chemical engineering is a successful way out to better and healthier living. Patients are now able to fight against any types of diseases, viruses or germs in the most challenging situations the procedures and dosage of the medicines are being made very much health friendly and less painful. People can now think of natural survival as well. 

v. Chemical engineer’s activities are not only confined to the creation of medicines by converting materials to useful medicinal products but also with other fields of Science like Physics, Biology, and Maths. In various research laboratories, chemical engineering highlights the techniques and strategies to invent several guides or formulas to find out more ways to the progress of medical fields and biomedical therapies.

vi. Reproductive health of women has improved a lot. People can easily fight against infertility by undergoing through short and long term medical treatments.
