A healthy lifestyle solely depends on both physical disciplines as well as spiritual disciplines. When we speak about physical controls, we mean regulations regarding going to bed on time, taking proper food, taking care of health, saving money for the future, watching good things on television, listening to good music, etc. But are you concerned about the spiritual disciplines of regular life?
Though most of the people are aware of the physical disciplines, they are not much aware of the spiritual disciplines. But, you must be informed that spiritual disciplines are among such practices that helps in the spiritual growth of mind and body. As a result, you can gain spiritual maturity and finally get a life free of stress and higher expectations.
You might be thinking that spiritual disciplines are related to activities like chanting prayers, fasting, taking “Diksha,” etc. But all these activities are not related to spiritual disciplines. These are merely some religious practices.
Let’s discuss what the actual spiritual disciplines of your life are. There are five main spiritual disciplines.
Meditation is a fundamental way to get spiritual peace. If you are struggling a lot in stress and trying to get some peace of mind, meditation is the perfect way for you. Just close your eyes for sometimes, rest yourself in a comfortable position and focus on something spiritual which you honor or respect the most. Day by day you can feel the result. You can meditate at any time of the day, but the best time for meditation is the time when you wake up in the morning and the time when you are going to sleep at night.
It says that one who serves the people who need support helps God. You may not be rich, you may not have enough things to serve the poor, but isn’t it possible to pay a little amount of your savings or buy some food or provide some of your clothes to the people who need them?
Fasting can be a better way for spiritual growth. If you remain on fasting on some particular day of a month, you can have a good system of metabolism. Your body will feel flexible as well.
4. Praying and thanking
Don’t lose hope and feel inferior. Always consider that God has provided you with many comforts that may not be enjoyed by many people. Keep on thanking your God, pray him.
5. Reading Holy books
Holy books have many positive messages for you. Just go through it, and you can have a positive outlook for the world as well as for yourself.
