Before the advent of technology, we hardly had any device or equipment to explore the vast reaches of the universe. However, the scope for the same has widened with the breakthrough of innovative technologies. Options for exploring the space is going to widen considerably because of the robotic technology introduced by the experts.
Today, we have options such as augmented reality, drones and artificial intelligence which is growing rapidly. With the help of all this advanced technology, the study and exploration of space have become quite easy.
Future of robotic space exploration
There is no doubt that our abilities to explore the universe have been enhanced by the robotic technologies introduced to us. These technologies can move freely and work autonomously.
1. Space drones
Space drones are one of the finest examples of robotic space exploration technology. Space experts are trying to develop a space drone that can fly on Mars. The drone would fly over the rovers every day which will help the experts to find out the various points of interests.
Sending humans on other planets like Mars is not considered to be a good option because of various reasons. Also, it is not possible for humans to explore Mars on their own. This is where the need for technologies like augmented reality and hologram is going to of great help to scientists. They can use a hologram to put close to the surface of Mars to explore it nicely.
NASA is known to work with Microsoft to develop a technology called OnSight. This will enable scientists to work virtually on Mars. It is hard to believe that we have come such a long way in terms of technology.
3. Self-replicating robots
A self-replicating robot is a robot that is capable of creating more such bots on its own while it is in space. This will help scientists to explore the details of planets such as Mars. However, the idea is still under development and scientist are working hard to give it shape.

Humans are highly intelligent species. This leads us to always do a "check" before working stuff out. The first ever living thing to go to space was a monkey. The first ever space station that left Earth had a dog in it. I is obvious that humans are intelligent and care for the ecosystem.
Because sooner or later, we will be prohibited from sending animals to space. Especially for long travels and extreme intelligent research. This will definitely not be a good trial with monkeys and dogs.
From the images we see how sophisticated the controls are. Humans are too clever to be sent in baby sitter like looking tools. But since we need to run a "check" we have to go to our next best option - robots.
Not only are they efficient and self sufficient. We don't need to make sophisticated tools to ease their journey or have to spend billions of dollars in their space travel. They are bots, if something goes wrong, they will just roam around the universe.
Next thing bots can do is they can perform human like activities to ensure that human movement is possible. If codded well, they could do stuff on their own, sometimes even better than a human.
With expansion in research, we can send unmanned rockets, satellites and even have settlements on moon and Mars.
Well, back on Earth, robotics has already marked its spot. From cell phone to water heater, TV to AC, everything is a machine. It is only a matter of time, before we a robot in our house, car and even in schools. The world will become automated.
