Art is an inherent skill. It is something which you have in your genes. But, it can also be developed. A skill can be formed by practice and so is the case with art. With a little consistency and lot of patience, you too can master.
Here are a few steps which you may adapt to better your art:
Start your drawing: Draw anything you wish. Draw free lines, draw trees, birds anything. Even the human being was not civilized in a single day. It will take time to master the skill, but you will surely reach it.
Start gathering: Gather information about different artistic skills, themes, drawings, etc. You should select the best pencils for sketching. Search for the best material that will give the best results. Movies, too, are of great help as they provide ideas for different art styles in some of the other way.
Choose the right paper: Don't get anything super rough or overly smooth. The 80 lb, 200 series, and Strathmore Drawing Paperwork excellently.
Observe your work: Now the most important thing is that you should observe your work. Just as revision is mandatory in any numerical, similarly, observation is compulsory in any work. You also have to observe the work of other artists to get ideas and better motivation.
Start visiting: Visit art galleries, art competitions, and art contests. Observe the paintings exhibited there. Again, don’t observe them like an ordinary person. Go in the depth of the painting. Check which paint had been used, from which direction the art has been made, which pencils have been used, what is the subject of the painting, what has been tried to show through the canvas.
Evaluate your work: Place all your works in one place and evaluate them. Compare them with each other. Critically examine your work.
Take opinions: Another help you may get is your fellow artists. Show them your work, note down their views, and take their suggestions and feedback.
Place well: Lighting, directions, location, everything matters in an artwork. You should be very careful regarding these as well. You should start landscaping more comfortable locations first.
These were the few basic points which may help to better the skills of art. But, again, without consistency and patience, every step taken will go in vain. So, have patience and keep trying until you become a successful artist.
