Dream without fear

E-Commerce – A popular name for many years. We all know about it’s meaning and how to utilize it. But do we know how this E-Commerce Business works? Does anyone know what the backend story of every e-commerce business is?

To start, let us discuss the definition of e-commerce.

It is the process in which user and seller perform buying and selling of goods as well as transaction methods over the Internet.

Now, how does this process work? I will explain A to Z full procedure.

There are some important and basic components of an E-Commerce Business –

  • Computer

  • Internet Connection

  • Online Store

  • Web server

  • Order manager

  • Stock availability

  • Transaction method

  • Dispatching of Goods

  • Tracking Feature

  • Delivery

These are the basic factors and requirements for every e-commerce business to run successfully.

Now I will explain each and every aspect in detail, have a look –

  • Customer first needs a device to start the process he can do with either mobile or with a computer.

  • Now, what all the customer need is an internet connection to view the Online Store.

  • Then he will choose his desired product.

  • The Web Server will then track his order details and send to the Order Manager ( it is the software that checks the ordered product is in the stock or not). If an ordered item is in stock then it will go ahead. Otherwise, stock database system handles the procedure by ordering the particular product from a wholesaler.

  • Suppose the product is available in stock, then here comes the role of the transaction. For that, the Merchant system works.

  • First, it confirms the payment from the bank online just to check that customer has enough payment in his bank account or not. After confirmation, the process continues.

  • Then you will be notified on your computer screen regarding the successful transaction through the web server.

  • Then a dispatching request is sent by the order manager.

  • Now your purchased goodwill dispatched and ready to make the delivery.

  • Once dispatching is done, the customer gets notified through the mail, and now he can track his product delivery.

  • After delivery also, you will get a final mail that your product has been delivered.

It seems very easy to use the E-Commerce platform for buying and selling, but there are lots of activities behind the system which are essential to run an E-Commerce business.
