IPV6 vs IPV4 - what are they, what is the major difference & which is most secure? 18 May, 2021

Which is more secure, IPv4 or IPv6?

IPv6 is more secure than IPv4, as in IPv6, IPSEC (IP Security) is an in-built feature in IPv6 and hence, name resolution is more secure. In IPv6, SEND (Secure Neighbour Discovery) feature is activated which means using cryptographic confirmation, the host can be identified as authentic. SEND also deters name-based attacks, ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) poisoning, etc.

IPv6 provides end-to-end encryption and that is why it is more secure. It also provides privacy, confidentiality, validity, and data authenticity to users.
