Muhammad Ali is the world's best boxer of all time. The legend was born on 17th January 1942 as Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. When he was 12 years old, he discovered that his bike had been stolen and he reported to a police officer who was a trained boxer. The officer asked Clay to learn how to fight, and that is how he started boxing training. Clay later changed his name to Muhammad Ali.
His first amateur fight occurred in 1954 which he won. When he was eighteen, he won the National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions and also the Amateur Athletic Unions. Muhammad later won the Olympic Gold medal, followed by the World Heavyweight Championship which made him the American hero then.
He converted into Islam in 1964 and joined a group called The Nation of Islam, a black Muslim group. In 1967 he refused to join the military, his act stripped his titles and his boxing license. However, in 1974 the legend made a comeback to boxing.
After his retirement, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1984 which damaged his speech and movement. However, he received many rewards after his retirement. He later died on 3rd June 2016 leaving a massive legacy in boxing.
