6 Ways to Improve You’re Marketing on LinkedIn 17 November, 2020   

The world is becoming smaller with each passing day. People and businesses are now more connected than ever before.


For survival and competition, businesses today realize the importance of lead generation. As LinkedIn is a widely used platform, it makes sense to take advantage of its potential. A recent study reveals that 93% of B2B businesses feel that LinkedIn is the best platform to generate leads, while 66% of corporate website visits usually come from LinkedIn.


It is not wrong to say that LinkedIn is like a magnet that can be used to win leads, especially since 82% to 85% of social leads for businesses originate from LinkedIn.


For instance, a digital marketing services company produces more than $3 million in sales just by developing and boosting their marketing techniques on LinkedIn. This was all made possible in very little time, approximately 2 to 3 weeks. After a few months, the sales increased by up to $6 million.


The reason behind this is that the business was actively participating on LinkedIn.

But the real question is how you can get more leads and improve your marketing on LinkedIn. The article shares six ways through which you can improve your marketing and help your business grow.


1.     Make a Profile for Your Business


LinkedIn is a widely used platform worldwide. Currently, the platform has over half a billion users. You will be amazed to know that most of the user base of LinkedIn is not in the USA. If a person or a business does not have an account on LinkedIn, it is missing out on a global audience. 


The first thing that you need to do is to create a profile/ company page for your business.  Creating a profile is free and an easy process. Start by entering your company name and upload an image for it. You are recommended to upload an iconic image that would truly define your business. The purpose is to keep it professional.


Also, create an About Us section. It should define your business. In this section, try to cover as much as you can. However, remember it has a word limit. Enter the link for your website, sector, and other information right below the About Us section. Make sure that your business includes keywords in the About Us section. 


Once you have uploaded your business information, your business will become easy to search on LinkedIn. Add the address of your business. This not only boosts awareness about your business but also creates a relationship based on trust with clients. The best thing is that it enables you to reach the local market. Always remember that local referrals are good for reaching a larger audience.

The final step is to add is your featured groups. Posting a link to your Page from your website is one great way to get started. This will help you to obtain new leads.


2.   Use the Matched Audience Features


LinkedIn gives you an option of Matched Audience Features. With this, it is easy for businesses to target the customers that are already linked with them.


98 percent of first-time visitors usually do not convert into lifetime customers. Therefore, this feature allows marketers to retarget the visitors of their website, transfer any existing accounts, and also add contacts from their email to reach them with ads on LinkedIn.

3.   Share Content Regularly


Once a business profile is created, now it's time to share content regularly. Content is the king of the digital world, and it is important on every platform, including LinkedIn.


At first, it would be difficult to reach a large audience, but with time, you might be able to reach people who are willing to read and share your content.


LinkedIn offers three options for sharing content. It includes posting an article, an image, or a video. It is advised that you use all of them to leave a greater impact on the audience. For instance, you can upload an article with images and add videos to it.  Such content is said to leave more impact, and you can compete against 100,000 content posted daily on LinkedIn. If you do not have enough time to post content, you can always outsource this work from different freelancing websites and achieve the desired results.


4.   Make Connections


To make connections, you need to reach individuals and other companies. This will help open a door full of opportunities and allow your business to grow. Just click on the search bar and select the drop-down to get started. This drop-down section is located to the left.


Search for people and companies by location, mutual connections, and even companies. When your search is complete, you can reach the desired individual or company via Mail to introduce yourself or your business.


5.    Reach Groups or Create One


Another cool way to improve your marketing on LinkedIn is by joining various groups that are related to your industry. If you cannot find any relevant group, create your own. Communicate with your potential audience and let them know what you are offering.


Owning a group would let you stand out among others in your industry. Creating a group is a simple process. Just click on the 'Create Group' button. It can be found in the My Groups Tab. Give your title, logo, and also give a detailed description of your group and its purpose.


6.   Introduce yourself with InMail


The use of InMail is one of the finest marketing strategies on LinkedIn, but you have to pay for it. It costs $79 per month. InMail allows you to get connected with anyone on LinkedIn. It is an effective and quick way to build relationships.


A study conducted reveals that the response rate of InMail is 3 times faster than a traditional mailing system. It also comes with a built-in analytics feature that allows you to arrange your messages.
